In our ongoing efforts to keep our GLCPS community safe by following recommendations from local, state and federal health and education agencies, we are sharing this ten-minute presentation that clarifies the school’s current Covid-19 preventative measures.

hello glcps family This Is Us glad to see most of you back from our break and hoping to see more starting next week many of you have come to us asking for a review of our covid-19 response or protocol you know what as a family and or staff member should I do with possible exposure to covid-19 and what has happened since the break when it comes to our protocols so we're just doing a quick sound bite of our families and staff members to explain some of it all to you so let's start with the fastest or the quickest to explain if a student or staff member has already been tested positive in the past 90 days and is not currently showing symptoms again past 90 days and you are currently not showing and you've been exposed to someone with covid-19 aren't required to quarantine now if for some reason you start developing symptoms Yuma immediately reach out to your position then email the school nurse at Health at glcps. Org for next steps do not go to school to be tested if you're showing or develop any symptoms please don't go to school to get tested that needs to happen outside of school okay now many of you had asked hey what has happened since we went to break had there any updates to protocol so any updates if there are any are on the glcps website and it's clearly labeled as glcps covid particles most of the particles have not changed since the holiday break the two-week window please be advised though that the quarantine and isolation timelines have been shortened by the CDC the Department of Health and the Department of Education you have any questions regarding these updates on the protocol please contact our School nurses do us a favor don't do that during morning arrival time or dismissal time those are the two worst and busy times for the nurses tried doing that around 10 a.m. or around say 1:30 p.m. those are would be the easiest times for phone calls to the nurses okay vaccinated students and staff if you are currently vaccinated meaning if you have the Johnson & Johnson that's one dose if you had Pfizer or moderna those are the two doses of Pfizer on the dinner if you're a student stopped and you're feeling well you have no symptoms you do not need to quarantine if you had close contact and you are not feeling any symptoms right you are just you have. But you're fully vaccinated no action is needed you just go about your business. Now you are expected to solve monitor meaning check yourself am I feeling any symptoms is that anytime you start feeling something do not come to school immediately contact the nurses at help at glcps. let them know what's going on they will contact you because if you emailed them overnight they will contact you in the morning sometimes they may message you over during the evening hours but it's not a hundred percent certain they will then give you further instructions as to what your next steps are no that's you should not come to school expecting to be tested again to not come to school if you have any symptoms okay unvaccinated students and staff if at any time the student or stop the dog symptoms let me say it again do not go to school contact the help I'll bet she lcps.org as soon as possible consult with your physician to get a test if the physician feels it is necessary all right wait for further instructions from one of our nurses on the next steps when I say back to health office it's not an immediate response they will contact you when you're cute comes up you can imagine they get many people messaging them so they will contact you they will call you they will live to your story each student has a different story and then they will give you instructions as to what your next steps are once suggestions right if there's an article exposure students. We need to quarantine the nurse will contact you if you have been identified as a contact in school in School contact however have the option to participate in chest and stay or parking at home there is that option let's just say if and only if it's an in school clothes contact okay so what are we here at Global continuing to do to keep our students and staff safe we're attempting to maintain our seating charts keeping students 3 ft apart when possible students and staff are continuing to wear masks no matter their vaccinations status weather for leaving windows open a crack to allow for air circulation of course Mass brakes are outside weather permitting if there indoor we have also in indoor math break windows open every other row proper distance for safety sake a classroom or meeting space students and staff on sanitizing when entering our building nurses will continue to do symptomatic checks my apologies and Hesston State Testing when needed what can you ask parents and families do and staff to be proactive if you can be in car to try to get at home to Rapid test this will only minimize time it takes for you to get testing nothing more frustrating than to look for testing looking for test when you need them and there's none in stock so if you can get your take advantage of it if this is not possible find out what you can get tested in the future to lesson that frustration later make sure you have completed a consent form we cannot touch child without this let me remind you we will not test your child without your verbal consent as well so yes we need the hand written form or the form that says hey I am giving you permission to touch a child but we're not going to randomly test without talking to you first to say hey did you identify child of the clothes contact we need to test your child is this okay with you you will give us content that's when we give the week that's when we will get the student if you do not give consent then we would call you to have you pick them up okay please review with your child the importance of wearing the mask properly that's the biggest struggle that I'm sure you can imagine we are holding a covid-19 vaccination for next year i g l c a j a g l c p s on January 20th 2022 from 3:32 to 5:30 p.m. this is not mandatory any students or staff here at the lcps it is just an option for you they're offering everything from first vaccinations all the way to boosters for students stop and family members so if you're interested please check your email and email has been sent last but not least keep those lines of communication open you guys have been doing a great job with that feel free to reach out to us at the school that he questioned if I can't answer it's the main office can answer it we will find somebody who can and we will try to do our best to respond as quickly as possible good night be safe take care
