How to Enroll

The Global Learning Charter Public School is a public school. Admission is free; there is no tuition. Students are admitted through a blind lottery process that takes place each year at the beginning of March. There are no interviews, admissions tests, or review of a student's previous school records. We welcome all students, including English language learners and special education students. All students in New Bedford entering grades 5 through 10 are welcome to apply.
This year's lottery for the 2018-19 school year was held on March 8th, 2018. There were 405 students who applied for 76 available seats. Those families have been notified that they can now choose to enroll their child. All other students have been placed on waiting lists for their respective grades in the order that their names were drawn during the lottery. They will be notified in that order when seats become available.
Applications for the 2019-2020 school year will be available on December 1st, 2019. The deadline for completing and submitting an application is the last day of February. Students who are on the current waiting list and students of siblings who attend GLCPS must submit a new application each year, as the previous year's applications are destroyed when the new application process begins.
Mark your calendar to re-visit this page beginning December 1st, 2018 when the 2019-2020 school year applications will be posted!
