Enrollment Period Opens December 1
Thank you for visiting the GLCPS Enrollment Page.
Our Enrollment Period begins on December 1 and ends on the last Friday of February each year. Applications will be posted on our website on December 1.
We welcome all students who want to commit themselves to an exciting, personalized, project-based, technology-rich education. Together with your parents, you will have an opportunity to explore new, engaging and effective ways of learning at the Global Learning Charter Public School.
GLCPS is a public school; therefore, there is no fee to attend.

- Applicants are selected through a blind lottery that takes place each year in March.
- There are no interviews, admissions tests, or review of a student's previous school records.
- We welcome all students, including English language learners and special education students.
- All students in New Bedford entering grades 5 through 10 are welcome to apply.
- We encourage families to start their school planning early. The best chance for a student to enter GLCPS is by applying in the 4th grade to start in the 5th grade.
Our Enrollment Process is as follows:
1. Complete an enrollment application.
2. Include proof of residence such as a photograph of a utility bill or a driver's license.
Once you complete an application, you will periodically receive emails from the school informing you of opportunities to visit, tour the school, and meet staff members. You will also be invited to attend the public lottery which is held each year in early March. You are under no obligation to attend any of these events.
We accept applications from students entering grades 5-10. Please be aware that the best chance of acquiring a seat at GLCPS is for rising 5th grade students. This is because as classes move up each year, the 5th grade class is completely open with approximately 70 - 80 open seats.
GLCPS will accept any application from a Massachusetts community. However, New Bedford residents have the highest priority in the lottery. Applicants who live outside of New Bedford will be placed last on the lottery list.
If you are homeless or plan to move to New Bedford prior to the start of the upcoming school year and wish to apply, please contact the school.
GLCPS mails applications to families of all students entering grades 5, 6 and 9 during the enrollment period.
We are always happy to answer questions about our enrollment process. Please call the school (508-991-4105) and ask for Director of Student, Family and Community Life Adonis Ferreira or send an email to Mr. Ferreira or [email protected].
