SPIRIT WEEK IS A CROWD PLEASER

This past week was Spirit Week at GLCPS. Spirit Week is an event enjoyed by many schools, GLCPS being one of them. “I like Spirit Week because I can dress up and be myself,” Sophia Rodriguez, a 6th grader, explained. Senior Juana Ventura agreed. “Spirit Week lets me show how I actually Dress.” Sophia and Juana ae not the only students who feel this way. Many other students had similar responses.

During Spirit Week, each day has a theme and everyone, including staff, is encouraged to dress for the theme of the day. Although Spirit Week is loved by many, some students felt as though this year’s themes were a bit lackluster. One of them is Freshman Yanmarc Echevarria-Mojica. “I wish there were different days, like Meme Day,” he said.

Although some feel this way, others enjoyed the themes for this year. Elias Martinez, a 5th grade student said “The themes for Spirit Week are fun.”
The option to dress up - or dress down, depending on how you look at it - for a whole week makes students happy. A week of fun for everyone leaves no one feeling upset.
