Rock and Read-a-thon Raises Money For Books

raise money to purchase books that students are excited to read. Participants will receive pledges for taking part in the event. Already, staff and students in grades 5-12 have raised just over $1,000 to purchase new books for classrooms and the school's Baker-Korn Library. Among the guest readers at the Rock and Read-a-thon will be Senator Mark Montigny and New Bedford Police Chief Joseph Cordeiro, as well as GLCPS Executive Director Stephen Furtado and Principal Lena Pires. Miss New Bedford Olivia Marques is also scheduled to make an appearance.
