Summer Academic and Enrichment Program 2022

 

 

 

 

 

Summer of 2023 activities offered:

 

ART - Let your creative-side show!  Students will be using various materials to create original art pieces. Art supplies will be provided.

BAND - Summer is a great time to solidify skills on your band instrument, or get an introduction to an instrument if you haven’t played one before. Students will be grouped, as best we can, by instrument and level.

BOARD GAMES - If you enjoy battling your wits or simply playing a fun or competitive game with your friends, board game club will be the place for you! We will play a variety of board games, ranging from long-form games like Monopoly, brain games like Trivial Pursuit as well as many others you have interest in. This is made for anyone interested in playing games with friends.

 

CREATIVE WRITING - Students will be able to find different ways to express themselves and learn how to write using different prompts and free-write activities.

DEBATE - Do you have strong opinions? Like to argue? This is the place for you. This summer's debate class will offer students a chance to speak up and be heard. In the class students will build confidence, develop public speaking skills, research skills in a fun classroom debate setting

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - Who's up for a dungeon crawl? We will design and play a campaign.  This will be tabletop gaming and role-playing in a system and version to be determined based on what everyone has.

 

FASHION CLUB - The Fashion Club will dive into fashion history, fashion trends, research on fashion icons, learn and practice fashion sketching, beginner level flat patterning, beginning level draping (on dress form) and beginner level sewing that will include creating a final product by the end of the program.

IMPROV THEATER - Come learn to do Improv! This program will provide lots of laughs as students learn about different types of improv acting through fun games and interesting scenarios. Students will be expected to perform mini skits with the help of the instructor in front of their classmates

INTRAMURALS - Students will participate in various sports activities in an outdoor environment. This program is designed for students who are interested in playing friendly, competitive games with friends. This program takes place at Riverside Park. Please come prepared with water, head gear and sunscreen. 

 

INTRODUCTION TO GUITAR - Students will learn the basics of guitar, reading tablature and chords.

JEWELRY MAKING - Students will participate in a fun project to bring out their creativity. They can make jewelry for themselves or share with their classmates. Jewelry supplies will be provided. 

LEGO BUILDING  - Do you like Legos? This group will give students the opportunity to be ceative building with Legos. 

VOLLEYBALL CAMP - The program takes place in the school gym. Please come prepared with proper footwear (sneakers) and water.

ART - Los estudiantes usarán varios materiales para crear piezas de arte originales. Se proporcionarán materiales de arte.

BAND - El verano es un buen momento para consolidar las habilidades en el instrumento de tu banda o para obtener una introducción a un instrumento si no has tocado uno antes. Los alumnos se agruparán, lo mejor que podamos, por instrumento y nivel.

BOARD GAMES - Si te gusta luchar contra tu ingenio o simplemente jugar un juego divertido o competitivo con tus amigos, ¡el club de juegos de mesa será el lugar para ti! DEBATE - ¿Tienes opiniones fuertes? ¿Te gusta discutir? Este es el lugar para ti. La clase de debate de este verano ofrecerá a los estudiantes la oportunidad de hablar y ser escuchados. En la clase, los estudiantes generarán confianza, desarrollarán habilidades para hablar en público, habilidades de investigación en un entorno divertido de debate en el aula.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - ¿Quién se apunta a un rastreo de mazmorras? Diseñaremos y jugaremos una campaña. Serán juegos de mesa y juegos de rol en un sistema y una versión que se determinará en función de lo que cada uno tenga.

 

FASHION CLUB - El club de la moda se sumergirá en la historia de la moda, las tendencias de la moda, investigará los íconos de la moda, aprenderá y practicará bocetos de moda, patrones planos de nivel principiante, drapeado de nivel principiante (en forma de vestido) y costura de nivel principiante que incluirá la creación de un producto final por el final del programa.

IMPROV THEATER - ¡Ven a aprender a hacer Improv! Este programa proporcionará muchas risas a medida que los estudiantes aprendan sobre diferentes tipos de actuación de improvisación a través de juegos divertidos y escenarios interesantes. Se espera que los estudiantes realicen mini obras de teatro con la ayuda del instructor frente a sus compañeros de clase.

 

INTRAMURAL SPORTS - Los estudiantes participarán en actividades divertidas como dodgeball, voleibol, kickball y mucho más. Este programa está diseñado para estudiantes que estén interesados en jugar juegos competitivos amistosos con amigos. Este programa se lleva a cabo en Riverside Park. Venga preparado con agua, sombrero y protector solar.

 

INTRODUCTION TO GUITAR - Los estudiantes aprenderán los conceptos básicos de guitarra, lectura de tablaturas y acordes.

 

JEWELRY MAKING - Los estudiantes participarán en un proyecto divertido para que los estudiantes saquen a relucir su creatividad interior. Pueden hacer joyas para ellos mismos o compartir con sus compañeros de clase. Se proporcionarán suministros de joyería.

 

LEGO BUILDING - ¿Te gusta construir con Legos? Este grupo les dará a los estudiantes la oportunidad de ser creativos construyendo con Legos.

MINECRAFT - Minecraft es un juego en el que excavas (mías) y construyes (elaboras) diferentes tipos de bloques 3D dentro de un gran mundo de diferentes terrenos y hábitats para explorar. Construiremos, crearemos y jugaremos juntos.

 

VOLLEYBALL CAMP - Los estudiantes aprenderán las reglas del voleibol y practicarán técnicas para servir, volear y bloquear. Este programa se lleva a cabo en el gimnasio de la escuela. Venga preparado con calzado adecuado (zapatillas) y agua.
