There is a School Social Event tonight from 5:30 pm - 8 pm. ‘Dancing Under the Stars’ which is sponsored by the GLCPS Student Council will have a number of fun activities, and yummy food and drinks. Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold during at the door.
Earlier this week, GLCPS emailed notices to families of students in grades 5 and 9 explaining that the school nurse would soon begin conducting postural screenings on students in those two grades, as required by state law. Parents can notify the school if they do not want their child to be screened. More information about required screenings is available on the Health Services section of the school website. Families of 9th grade students, have you heard of the Apprenticeship Program at the New Bedford Whaling Museum? The museum invites current 9th grade students who are New Bedford residents to apply to their High School Apprenticeship Program. Apprentices receive a stipend and participate in summer sessions and after-school activities for three years until graduation. Apprenticeship applications will be accepted March 1 – April 1, 2024. See the Whaling Museum website for application details and program requirements.
Our friends from the North End Neighborhood Association will meet at GLCPS this coming Monday, March 4th at 6:30 PM. This is a public meeting held every first Monday of the month to give city residents the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have about what is happening in our North End neighborhood. All are welcome!

Esta noche habrá un evento social escolar de 5:30 pm a 8 pm. ‘Dancing Under The Stars’ (Bailando Debajo Las Estrellas) que está organizado por el Consejo Estudiantil GLCPS tendrán actividades divertidas, bebidas y comidas deliciosas. Los boletos están a $5 y serán vendidos durante todos los turnos de almuerzo y a la puerta.

El museo invita a los estudiantes actuales de noveno grado que residen en New Bedford a aplicar para su programa de aprendizaje de escuela secundaria. Há um Evento Social Escolar hoje à noite, das 17h30 às 20h. ‘Dancing Under the Stars’, patrocinado pelo Conselho Estudantil GLCPS, terá uma série de atividades divertidas e comidas e bebidas deliciosas. Os ingressos custam R$ 5,00 e serão vendidos na hora.

As famílias dos alunos do 9º ano, já ouviram falar sobre o Programa de Aprendizagem do Museu Baleeiro de New Bedford? O museu convida atuais alunos do 9º ano que são residentes de New Bedford para se inscreverem no Programa de Aprendizagem do Ensino Secundário. Os aprendizes recebem uma bolsa e participam de sessões de verão e atividades extracurriculares por três anos até a sua graduação. Os nossos amigos da Associação de Moradores de North End (North End Neighborhood Association) têm uma reunião na GLCPS na próxima segunda-feira, 4 de março, às 6:30 PM.
