November News Update from Executive Director Stephen Furtado

Second, MCAS results have been sent home.  Our grade 10 results were some of the highest in the school’s history. Grades 5-8 took the new MCAS 2.0 test and the results showed that we continue to make progress. The format, the performance standards and the scoring scale changed which has led to some confusion when examining the results. We have included a letter from the Secretary of Education James Peyser on our website that explains all of the changes that took place with the new test. I encourage you to read it and if you have any questions on your child’s results do not hesitate to call.

Third, on November 28 we will be holding “Giving Tuesday”. On that day we will be accepting donations that will directly go to our general fund. We are hoping to raise money that will support various projects going on in the school. We have an anonymous donor who is willing to match the first $500 raised and also donate an additional $500. You will find a special tab on our website that day that says “Please Donate”. Please consider supporting our school. Any size donation will be greatly appreciated.

Last but not at all least, I would like to wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Stephen Furtado, Sr.
