ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in the development of appropriate Computer Science Technology Curriculum for students in grades 5-12.
2. Teaches knowledge and understanding of Computer Technology careers.
3. Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in the CSA activities, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
4. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the Computer Science Technology field by attending seminars, participating in professional organizations, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
5. Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
6. Ensures that students conform to the school’s standards and school district policies: establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
7. Meets with other professional staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
8. As part of the Arts, Wellness, and Technology (AWT) department, meets regularly to support other members in the creation of elective curriculum and plan events to showcase student work.
9. Assists in the development of strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the curriculum as well as provide information on current best practices, innovations and emerging trends.
10. Able to develop innovative curriculum for elective classes in grades 5 -12 which support GLCPS goals of preparing students for the ever-changing requirements of 21st century education and workplace.
11. Performs other related tasks as needed or assigned by direct supervisor or administrator designated by the principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Approximately nine month working period.
• 60-day probation.
• Position constitutes an employee at will of GLCPS, with a contract length and salary to be established annually by the Board.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the GLCPS policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.


Requirements
Instructional Technology, Technology Specialist, or DLCS certification
Training in Code.org curriculum preferred
