Dean Melcher

Dean Melcher joined the GLCPS team in 2026 as an 8th grade Science teacher. He holds a Master of Science in Data Analytics from Johnson & Wales University, a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Stonehill College, and an Associate’s Degree in Biotechnology. He also holds certifications in Youth Mental Health and Thanatology.

Mr. Melcher brings extensive experience teaching and tutoring science at both the middle school and college levels, along with professional experience as a manufacturing laboratory supervisor and research assistant.

A lifelong learner, Mr. Melcher is passionate about science, biochemistry, neuroscience, education, and data analytics. He enjoys gardening, cooking, technology, gaming, personal finance and investing, and caring for pets. He is especially passionate about helping students discover their own curiosity and enthusiasm for science. An avid traveler, he has visited several countries in Europe as well as destinations along the East Coast of the United States.
