James McArthur joined GLCPS as the Grade 6 History teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and completed his Educator Certification program at the University of Texas at Arlington.

James brings nearly a decade of teaching experience to GLCPS, having taught Geography and World History to 9th and 10th graders at International Leadership of Texas, Texas and U.S. History to 7th and 8th graders in Arlington ISD, and Ancient Civilizations to 7th graders in Springfield Public Schools.

James is committed to helping students build a solid understanding of history and its relevance to the world around them. He values creating a calm, respectful classroom where students feel supported as they learn and grow.
