John Pytel joined the GLCPS team in 2023 as a substitute teacher. After serving as a long-term substitute several times throughout the school year, Mr. Pytel came on board as a full-time Grade 6 special education paraprofessional. In 2024, he moved up with his students to grade 7. From the beginning, he has been fully dedicated to his students and their families. Mr. Pytel is a seasoned first responder, having worked for 30 years in Emergency Medical Services as a paramedic and retiring as a lieutenant with the Lakeville Fire Department. During that time, he also taught EMS and fire-related classes. In his spare time, Mr. Pytel enjoys anything to do with the outdoors, such has hunting, fishing, boating and camping.
