GLCPS Students React to Election Results
November 7, 2024 - The most divisive presidential election of our time between former Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris was held this past week making it the most newsworthy election GLCPS students have experienced.
Ultimately, voters sent Donald Trump, a convicted felon, back to the White House for a second term, four years after his defeat at the hands of President Joe Biden.
Opinions among students and staff varied. Some believe neither Harris nor Trump are good for the country. One student summed it up this way: "This election could affect every single person depending on who wins."
Now, with Trump poised to return to the White House, many students are left wondering what's next. One of the biggest issues students are concerned about is the effect of the election on the US economy with each side arguing their candidate would do a better job at making improvements.
