Celebrating Ten Years of the Cultural Bazaar

The Cultural Bazaar is one of the most well attended events held at GLCPS. Attendees are treated to an abundant variety of dishes from around the globe, student exhibits centered on countires of origin or locations of special interest to them, and performances, some of which are student-led.

Some of the other highlights of this year's Cultural Bazaar include perfomrances by a local Mayan dancing group, a Step Team from Our Sisters School, and a student-led fashion show.

Attendees will also be treated to a preview of this year's Drama Club production of 'Frozen'.

Thanks to our community partner the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, visitors can also enjoy an in-depth study of the moving exhibit "Casting a Wider Net" which is on loan to GLCPS. The exhibit showcases the experiences and knowledge of generations of fishermen, shoreside workers and their families.

The GLCPS community also asks those who can to donate for the undergarment Drive for the Homeless organized by the Class of 2027. They are collecting new undergarments for men and women to donate to the New Bedford House of Hope which serves the area's adult homeless population.

The Cultural Bazaar begins at 6:00 pm. Guests are invited to sample the many dishes provided by local restaurants, families and staff located in the cafeteria. The performances will begin at 7:00 PM in the auditorium on the 1st floor. Guests can peruse the many exhibits also located on the 1st floor.

A raffle of several donated items, including a 40-inch TV and a one-of-a-kind sweatshirt commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Cultural Bazaar will be held immediately following the performances to cap the night.
