Annual Global Gala to Raise Funds for GLCPS College Scholarship Fund

a silent auction and a live auction. All proceeds from the celebration will go toward building the school’s college scholarship fund for GLCPS graduates.

Last year, 16 graduating seniors received scholarships of varying amounts from the events' proceeds.

"The Global Gala is not only one of the highlights of the year but necessary for our graduates who are finalizing their college plans and figuring out they're going to pay for it," said Dr. Stephen Furtado, Sr., executive director of GLCPS. "The students have worked hard and grown into individuals who are ready to take their next big step to higher education and to a bright future.  So many individuals, organizations and businesses have supported and continue to support these efforts.  Now, our many partners can celebrate the students' accomplishments by attending the Global Gala."

Knotty Pine Fine New England Catering will provide a delicious variety of hors d'oeuvres, clam chowder, kale soup and other exceptional cuisine for the gala.  Live music will be provided by GLCPS' student jazz combo with music educator and band director Ian Gollub.  Guests will enjoy a wine and beer tasting provided by Horizon Beverage, Quality Beverage, Colonial Beverage, Martignetti/Commonwealth Wines and M. S. Walker. New this year, a live auction will feature exciting items such as a seven-day vacation at the Playa Grande Resort in Cabo San Lucas; four Disney World hopper passes; a round trip flight to Portugal, Madeira or the Azores provided by SATA Azores Express; and a private performance by the GLCPS Student Jazz Combo

Additional raffle items include: an exciting array of family activities in Boston, Newport and Cape Cod; vineyard tours; a lady's tote from Brahmin Handbags; Joseph Abboud men’s accessories; fabulous restaurant gift certificates; theater, ballet and symphony tickets; gym memberships, and much, much more!
