Matthew Goebel is the Special Education paraprofessional for 7th grade. He began working at GLCPS in 2023. He is very excited about teaching GLCPS students and looks forward to getting to know them and their families. Prior to joining the GLCPS team, Mr. Goebel was a student teacher in East Hartford and worked as a substitute teacher at Foxborough Regional Charter School for four years. He also completed an internship at Futures in New Britain, CT which focuses on individualized instruction for students who have social and emotional needs, and worked as a camp counselor at both the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club. Mr. Goebel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education majoring in child study from the University of St. Joseph’s. He played men’s soccer and baseball while in college, and was the winning goalie his senior year when St. Joseph’s won the championship. He has traveled extensively. Be sure to ask him about his travels to Nicaragua, Bermuda, Seattle, Arizona and Florida.
