Evening of International Music to Benefit GLCPS Music Program

The event is being pulled together by music producer Richard Pouncey of Big Poppa Productions.

“I ran into Manny Escobar who started telling me all about these students and this program,” said Pouncey.  “I was impressed with what he told me, especially with the growth of their jazz program, so I thought I would help them out. The school needs some new instruments because more kids keep joining the band.”

Pouncey said he thought a night of international music would appeal to the community and a wide range of music lovers.

“Besides, I love to bring together a group of great musicians for a good cause,” said Pouncey.

Students in the school’s jazz band will also perform at the event.

“I was blown away when Manny (Escobar) and Mr. Pouncey approached me with the idea of having an international night of music as a fundraiser for our music program,” said GLCPS music teacher Don Richard. “It’s going to be a fun night and a wonderful way to raise some money for instruments for our kids.”

The show kicks off at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $25.00 with a one drink minimum. To purchase tickets, call Big Poppa Productions at 508-982-6347.
