Mia Correia joined the GLCPS staff in 2017 as an instructor of the Portuguese language. Ms. Correia previously taught at St. James St. John Grammar School in New Bedford. Ms. Correia is currently enrolled in Northeastern University's doctoral program of educational leadership. She earned her Master's in Secondary Education and her Bachelor's degree in Portuguese Language from UMass Dartmouth. Ms. Correia was a review panelist on the 2021 MA World Language Curriculum Frameworks. In 2017, she attended the ACTFL conference in Nashville (American Council on the Teacher of Foreign Languages). She has more than 14 years of experience working with youth in a variety of settings, including pre-school and as a therapeutic mentor.
