Amie Fernandes has years of expertise in the field of Special Education. She joined GLCPS as Director of Special Education in 2017. Ms. Fernandes has extensive experience in the field, having taught Special Education for more than a decade with expertise in applied behavior analysis and social skills development. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Johnson State college;a Master's in Special Education from Simmons College; and, a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in educational leadership with principal 9-12 endorsement from Fitchburg State University. During her career, she has served as Glee Club director, social skills coordinator, special education technical consultant and on the technology committee.
