Shannon Flaherty joined the GLCPS family in 2016. A high school English teacher for 4 years, she sought a position in an urban school because she enjoys working with a diverse population. Ms. Flaherty is part of the team that designed the GLCPS curricula for high school English with student-center classes such as Take Me to Neverland, which focuses on storytelling, the power of the narrative and imagination. She writes realistic fiction and hopes to be a published novelist some day. Ms. Flaherty earned a BA in English from Bridgewater State University and is studying for a M.A. in Literacy from Roger Williams University. She enjoys travelling to interesting places with her daughter.
