Heidi Eastman, high school social studies teacher and designer and teacher of the Port-to-Port course, joined GLCPS in 2006 and has more than 18 years of teaching experience. She received her BA in Art History and French, and a certificate in Western European Studies from UMass Amherst; a MA in French and Political Science from New York University; a French Language diploma from the Institut d'Etudes Francaises at the Universite d'Aix-Marseille III, Aix-en-Provence, France; and a diploma in French and Art from the University of London, in Paris. In 1993, Heidi co-founded the French-American School of Rhode Island, a bilingual elementary school in Providence, serving as president of the Board and as an instructor. Before her career in education, Heidi worked for Champagne Veuve Clicquot of Reims, France as a communications and marketing executive. Heidi is an accomplished artist, and enjoys traveling and gardening.
