Master Kimberly Dauplaise, a founding member of GLCPS, is our Tang Soo Do instructor. She is a certified 4th degree master instructor through the World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA) and is a certified international judge under WTSDA’s championship judging program. She is a six-time New England Region 9 Grand Champion and has competed and placed in five WTSDA World Championships. She travels the country to attain best practices for teaching, training and running our exceptional school-based martial arts program.
Master Dauplaise established the Tang Soo Do program at GLCPS in 2002. In 2009, she founded the Global Karate Academy to serve students in their quest toward mastery of Tang Soo Do. The program of study includes a beginners training course during the school day for grades 5-12, and a full ranking program after school hours for any of GLCPS students, staff and alumni. Students registered in the program can join WTSDA, rank up to Black Belt and compete in tournaments both regionally and nationally. Currently, two students have promoted to 1st degree Black Belt and 3 students are certified instructors. Master Dauplaise’s goal for all students is to give them an opportunity to gain valuable life skills while learning a traditional martial art. This program enriches every part of their lives both inside and outside of school, and reinforces the discipline necessary to succeed.
