William Pires

William Pires was hired for the 2026-2027 school year as math teacher for Grade 8. Previously, he was the  schoolwide building substitute, stepping into classrooms wherever and whenever he was needed. A proud GLCPS alumnus, Mr. Pires began working at the school after earning his Bachelor of Arts in Crime and Justice Studies from UMass Dartmouth. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Mr. Pires gained extensive classroom experience as a substitute teacher for grades 5–12 while attending college. He has also served as a mentor to many students, sharing his belief that students are the future. He especially enjoys engaging with them in thoughtful conversations about current events. Outside of school, Mr. Pires enjoys gaming and plays on the UMass Dartmouth Esports team.
