We are expanding our footprint in New Bedford’s North End! On August 24th, we broke ground for a major renovation of the former convent next door! At the groundbreaking event, it was announced that Irwin and Joan Jacobs have pledged $2 Million for this project. Thank you to all of our major donors including the Jacobs family, BayCoast Bank, Bristol County Savings Bank, Acushnet Foundation and Mifflin Foundation. We are grateful to State Representative Tony Cabral, New Bedford At-large City Councillor Ian Abreu, BCC President Laura Douglas, Community Foundation President John Vasconcellos, Police Chief Paul Oliveira, Chamber of Commerce President Rick Kidder and Audra Riding, representing Senator Mark Montigny, for showing their support today. Our goal is to open the Joan and Irwin Jacobs STEAM Education Center in August 2022. #weareglobalthinkers #edthataddsup #breakingnews #STEAM
