School Closing Emergency Procedure

Global Learning Charter Public School follows the school cancellation procedures for the
New Bedford Public School District. Therefore, if school is cancelled for the entire city
school system due to inclement weather, GLCPS will also be closed. Families will receive
a call at home through the GLCPS automated calling system. Additionally,
announcements will be broadcast on:

Radio Stations Television Stations
WCTK 98.1 FM Channels 6
WSNE 93.3 FM Channels 10
WFHN 107.1 FM Channels 12
WBSM 1420 AM

Our top priority is always the safety of our students and staff. The two-hour delay
enables school personnel to have additional time to assess local weather conditions and
allows road crews more time to improve driving conditions. Please make arrangements
for your children when a two-hour delay is activated. In the event of a two-hour delay,
the school will open two hours later and end at the regularly scheduled time. During a
two-hour delay, buses will pick up students in the morning two hours later than normal
pick up times. The school start time will be 9:55 AM. The school day will end at 3:00
PM. Due to the late arrival, breakfast will not be served. Families will receive a call at
home through the GLCPS automated calling system. Additionally, announcements will
be broadcast on social media as well as Radio/Television stations listed above.
