GLCPS Students Perform Original Work at ‘Hamilton’ Performance

GLCPS students interested in seeing the production were required to attend six after-school sessions with GLCPS Drama Club director and 5th grade science teacher Polly Zajac. During these sessions they worked either individually or in groups creating performance pieces based on Founding Era history using primary source documents as research. It was part of an educational program offered to schools through the Gilder Lehrman Institute and the Rockefeller Foundation. Title 1 eligible high schools were invited to integrate Alexander Hamilton and the Founding Era into their studies in exchange for tickets to the musical.  Ten GLCPS students completed the requirements and are attending the production.
